  6. Introduction:
  7.  
  8. The Music Player enables you to add your MIDI and WAV Music Files onto
  9. a Queue where they can be played in sequence or in a random order.
  10. An appropriate sound card must be present in your PC for this to work
  11. (although it is possible to play WAV files through the internal PC speaker).
  12.  
  13. This application has been released as Shareware - you are welcome to try it
  14. out free of charge for a period of 30 days. If you find it useful please
  15. pay the author as detailed below otherwise you are required to delete it
  16. from your PC. Your support will make it possible to produce updates and
  17. additional Windows applications.
  18.  
  19. You are encouraged to pass this application on to friends and colleagues
  20. but please keep it in it's original format and with all files included in
  21. the package.

  24. Installation:
  25.  
  26. To save space and bandwidth, only essential files have been provided here.
  27. A setup program is available separately via Email (see details below).
  28.  
  29. To perform a manual installation, copy the following files to an empty
  30. directory (eg C:\DMUSIC):
  31.  
  32. DMUSIC.EXE
  33. DMUSIC.HLP
  34.  
  35. Now copy the following files to your C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory:
  36.  
  37. VBRUN300.DLL (if you do not have this file, a copy can be downloaded
  38.               from our Web Site)
  39. GAUGE.VBX
  40. MCI.VBX
  41.  
  42. Note that one or more of these files may already exist.
  43.  
  44. You can now setup an icon pointing to DMUSIC.EXE or double click on it in
  45. File Manager.
  46.  
  47. You may find it easier to change the working directory of DMUSIC.EXE to the
  48. directory containing your sound files (eg C:\WINDOWS) to avoid searching
  49. for them when the program loads.
  50.  
  51. There are a number of command line switches which can be used to automate
  52. the Music Player (refer to on-line Help under Startup Switches for an
  53. up-to-date list).

  56. Notes:
  57.  
  58. The shareware evaluation version operates exactly as the registered version
  59. except that:
  60.  
  61.  
  62. -  It has a number of annoying nag/brag screens etc.
  63. -  It does not allow the use of command line switches
  64. -  It will only transfer up to 10 sounds to the music queue at a time
  65.  
  66.

  78. and any future updates or bug fixes. If you wish to negotiate multiple or
  79. site licences, please contact us.

  81. Please note that cash (US$, AUS$ or UKú) is preferred as the banks are
  82. expensive for converting foreign cheques. A Money Orders in AUS$ or UKú
  83. is the next best option.
